Apparently, The Latest Google EMD Update Is Flawed

So, Google Exact Match Domain update rolled out the other day and has cracked down pretty aggressively on many websites that had exact keyword matches in their domains.

But like with every update, there are things that stands out oddly, hinting that the update could be flawed (however minor that might be).

So, here’s an example.

Google for “project management software” and check out the results. The fourth organic result is from

The website has two pages indexed on Google and a super thin backlink profile.

So, assuming that by typical and known SEO standards, this website is pretty low quality and seems to have been built just for ranking for the particular keyword, I would’ve thought that Google discounted them from SERPs.

But no, it remains. I wonder why?

P.S – I understand that making assumptions from one off examples is probably not the right approach. But, thought this was a good example, anyways.
